Happy new month, and welcome to another power packed session of prayer right here at teach us how to pray, brought to you by what the word says. Wow. Now, you know, I want to welcome each and every one of you to this amazing prayer session from wherever you are joining us from in the world today. You know, we're going to be making so much power available. This is our platform where we exercise our authority as believers through using the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. This is our space where we build ourselves up on our most holy faith. This is our time of fellowship and communion with the Father. And of course, this is the place where we do receive answers in prayer. And I want to say a huge thank you to each and every one of you, you know, for participating on this prayer platform throughout the month of July.
You know, I know a lot of you have already sent through your prayer requests. You've also sent through your testimonies. And I want to encourage those of you that have sent through prayer requests. We are joining our faith with yours for your answer to prayer, for Your MIRAcLE. But at the same time, we know that as you join us on this platform, you know, week after week, consistently, you yourself are being transformed in the place of prayer. I want to encourage you to continue coming, and those who still want to send through their testimonies or their prayer requests, of course, you are always free to do so on the what the word says.org platform. Now, you know, throughout the month of July, we introduced a lot of foundational principles, principles of prayer to you. We looked at the purpose of prayer, why we pray, who said we should pray. We looked at different types of prayer. We even looked at, you know, one of the MoSt OG, one of the most original formats of prayer that the master, you know, told us to pray. And I want to encourage you, if you have missed out on any of our sessions during the month of July, please do feel free to go back to the website. Go to teach us how to pray. Resources there are about ten prayer sessions that we have recorded. The beginning of our prayer session always has some exhortation, always has some reading of the scriptures. This is us, you know, just going to the word and seeing what the word of God says about prayer and what, you know, the purposes of God is for our lives as believers in different, you know, categories across different topics.
We just want to find out what God's word says about certain things you understand. So you can go back to those ten prayer sessions. You can go through some of those exhortations and even feel free to pray those prayers, you know, to use those verses in the place of prayer. Something about the word of God is that it is timeless, it is dateless, it is eternal, and there is no distance in the realm of the spirit. So even if you go back to our prayer session three or four that we did in the month of July, I can guarantee you it will bless your life.

[00:03:01] Speaker A: So if you want to catch up on those foundational prayers, you can go back to our July prayer sessions. But as mentioned to you, it's a brand new month and our focus for prayer is going to slightly change a little bit. Right? We're going to be looking at the condition of our hearts during the month of August. It is all about soul wellness. I know a lot of you have heard that song. It says, it is well with my soul. Is it well with your soul?
That is what we're going to be working on throughout the month of August. Right? And even in South Africa, it is woman's month. Not that I'm saying that issues of the heart or issues of the soul, soul, you know, just reserved for women only, because both men and women go through a lot of challenges. They go through a lot of trauma in their hearts and in their souls. So that is what we're gonna be focusing on specifically this month, right? Have you experienced heartbreak? Have you been disappointed? Have you been betrayed? Is there pain in your heart? Are you going through some emotional turmoil? Are you going through some mental health challenges? This is the month that we're gonna be praying about those things and receiving healing by the power of the Holy Ghost and in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Now, you know, a lot of times christians focus on, you know, prosperity where finances are concerned, or they focus on, you know, health within their body, and they focus on opportunities and they might focus on, you know, relationships. But a lot of the time, we tend to ignore a very, very important component of ourselves as human beings, and that is our soul. Okay? Our soul. The soul is, you know, our will, our mind, our emotions, our heart. And this is a very, very important component that makes up the human, the human soul. You understand? We've got a spirit, we've got a soul, and we've got a body. And it is so important for us to take care of our soul. I want to start off by reading a few scriptures to us so that we can see how important the soul is to the Lord and how he cares so much about our souls, the well being of our souls. It's not only important to the Lord, but it is important for you, okay, as a human being, as a Christian, in order for you to function well in the earth and enjoy all the benefits that salvation has brought us, it is so, so important. It is key that you experience this wellness in your soul. I'm going to start off by reading three John one two, or some people say three John two. And it says, beloved, I wish above all else that thou mayest prosper and be in health even as thy soul prospereth. Praise the Lord. So it is God's desire that you experience wellness in your soul.
It is his desire for you to experience great mental health. You know, we're in an age where mental health is such a buzzword. Everybody's going for therapy. Everybody's got a psychologist, everybody's even, you know, doing self healing. That is really great. But at the end of the day, the author of humans, the one who created us, he's the one who knows how to fix every part of who we are. And he has sent his word to do exactly that. And that is what we're going to be doing during this month. In the place of prayer, I'm also reading to you from two Timothy one seven. And it says, God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love and a sound mind. Hallelujah. He has not given us a spirit of fear. So fear and anxiety is spiritual.
It's not, you know, something that we have to treat as, okay, this is just normal. It's a part of my life. No, it speaks. The Bible speaks about a spirit of fear. And how do we deal with spirits? We deal with them in the place of prayer, it says, but he's given us the spirit. Hallelujah. The Holy Spirit, the spirit of power, love and a sound mind. A sound mind, a disciplined mind. Hallelujah. So this is what the word of God has brought us. God cares about your wellness. God cares about your soul. He cares about your heart. Why? Let me tell you why. I'm reading to you from proverbs 423 in the KJV. It says, keep thy heart with all diligence, for out of it are the issues of life. Other version says, guard your heart and I love. You know what the Niv says? It says, above all else, oh, hallelujah. Above everything else, this is of paramount importance. This is the word of God telling you, above all else, guard your heart. For it is the wellspring of life, for out of it are the issues of life. A lot of the times people think, you know, um, oh, if, like, my finances were great, um, I'd have a better quality of life. I'm going to enjoy life more. Or if I. If I just had that property or that car, or if I just had this wife or this husband. And a lot of the times when people acquire those things, you find that they're not satisfied, they're not happy, and they start chasing after the next thing. Why? Because true joy comes from your spirit. True fulfillment comes from your spirit. True fulfillment is found in the place of your purpose, living out your purpose, discovering your purpose, executing your purpose. So it says, above all else, guard your heart with all diligence, for out of it is the wellspring of life, for out of it is your life. Your life flows from your heart. So a lot of the times, the issue is not the finances, it's not the relationships. It is not the material things. Oh, if I get this property, if I get this car. No, a lot of the times, you have issues in your heart. Your heart is cluttered. Your heart is full. Full of what?
Full of the experiences of pain. Full of the experiences of disappointment and betrayal. Full of the experiences of resentment and forgiveness. Full of the experiences of the traumas of life.
So you've got to guard this heart. Now, let me, you know, give you a little bit of an analogy. You can see my, my arm right over here. This is my flesh. This is my physical body, right?
If I get a large cut gush on this arm, the blood's gonna start coming out. And probably what I want to do is get attention for the wound that is on my arm. So probably I'm gonna go to the clinic or the hospital or nurse, so I'll figure it out myself. But I'm probably gonna clean that wound. I'm gonna address the situation. I'm gonna put ointment, I'm gonna put, you know, medication to heal.
You know, this physical arm of mine, it is the same with your soul. It's the same with your heart. You know, in life, you are sustaining various types of, you know, wounds, you know, pains. It could come from your childhood. It could come from the experiences of life, traumatic experiences. And you, you are having combat with these challenges of life, even as a Christian. And then because you can't see those wounds, you never address it. That is what it means. You know, out of your heart are the issues of life. The issues of life are on the inside.
So at the end of the day, when you sustain your emotional wounds, it is so important to be able to recognize that you've sustained those emotional wounds and then go to the father, expose those wounds to him, allow him to purge, allow him to cleanse it, allow him to heal it. Praise the Lord. And so that is what we're going to be dealing with in the place of prayer throughout the month of August. We're going to be dealing with different things, you know, different issues that people have experienced in their hearts. And sometimes, you know, the way you are living your life today, we call it survival mode at times. You know, a lot of the times, the things that you are doing today are just coping mechanisms because of the things that were done to you, whether it was abuse, whether it was neglect, whether it was abandonment. And a lot of the times you find that people are not even aware that their responses, their reactions. Maybe somebody always, you know, has an outburst of anger. You know, where does that outburst of anger come from? Fail to communicate with people correctly. They're always angry. They're always having outbursts. What is happening on the inside?
Do you understand? So you find that painful experiences, traumatic experiences, actually turn you into somebody else. It turns you into, you know, a host for demonic activity. Because where does fear come from? The spirit of fear, spirit of anger, depression, anxiety. Where does it come from? It comes from those painful experiences. And of course, now this is where demonic activity starts happening, because demons take advantage of those hurtful spaces and they start to find expressions and operate in and through the christian because their garden, their heart is full. It's filled with the cares of life, filled with the pains. And people never take time to address. They just keep going. They just keep going. You know, they never address it. Abusive situations happen. Painful situations happen. Traumatic things happen. Hurtful things have happened in your life, and you're just looking for how to cope. How to cope. Maybe it's alcohol that you're using to cope. Maybe it's relationships. You know, sometimes find that girls who have had negative relationships with their fathers growing up, they never received the validation, the affirmation. They've not received the love that a father should be able to give to a daughter. And then you see a lot of those girls, they're either. Their boundaries are either very high, very rigid, high towards, you know, the opposite sex or men. And so they find it hard to even get into a relationship.
And then sometimes you find that some of those girls, their boundaries are very loose, you know, very trusting. You know, they're very, you know, I was in that position. You know, I was very trusting with the opposite sex because I never had a great relationship with my father growing up. So those were wounds that I sustained, that I sustained in my soul. And, you know, my boundaries were not that rigid and strong, and I got hurt in the process, you know, and those are some of the things that I needed to come before the Lord with and deal with the issues of my heart. Go back. Go way back and look at. Okay, cool. What is responsible for some of my behavior. I also had an issue with people pleasing. You know, I would always just want people to be pleased with me and to the extent that I would neglect and even abandon myself.
So those are the issues that you can go back and find out, Lord, why? What is going on? What happened? Where's the misalignment in my soul? Where's the misalignment in my heart?
I need healing. I need to be whole because Jesus Christ died for me. He died for my emotional well being, for my wellness, for my, the. For me to have a sound mind that I can enjoy life, have life to the full till it overflows, that I don't need to have addictions. I don't need to please people in order to feel worthy. I don't need to be in survival mode. Praise the Lord. So this is what we're going to be dealing with throughout the month of August. And I want to encourage you, invite your friends, tell a friend to tell another friend that this is what we are dealing with. We're going to go in depth during this month. Praise the Lord. So we're going to get ready to start off our prayer session tonight.
It's going to be an amazing prayer session. And as per usual, you know, we always start off with thanking our father, coming before him, with thanksgiving, with praise in our hearts, to even have this glorious opportunity to, to be on this platform, teach us how to pray, to understand, you know, some of these spiritual truths today.
You know, it's so important. It is so important that we become everything that the Lord Jesus Christ died for us to be. People that have soul wellness, people that have sound minds, people that are in good relationship with themselves.
I mean, what good is it to know that the father loves you, God loves you, but you don't love yourself or you depending on the acceptance and validation and love from others in order for you to feel some form of worth or value for yourself. The Lord wants to heal you, even those who are facing issues of low self worth, low self esteem, the Lord wants to heal you in the place of prayer. Okay, so we're going to start off with the prayer of thanks to we're going to spend some time acknowledging the Lord's sovereignty and his gracious kindness in our life. Let us praise him for all he has done and what he's going to be doing for us throughout this month of August in these prayer sessions. I'm going to start with psalm 103, one to five. It says, bless the Lord, o my soul, and all that is within me. Bless his holy name. Bless the Lord, o my soul and forget not all of his benefits. Who forgives all your iniquities. Hallelujah. Who heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from destruction, who crowns you with loving kindness and tender mercies, who satisfies your mouth with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle. Oh, let us pray. Oh, thank you, father.

Thank you that throughout this month Makudza Kadisha many are receiving healing in their soulsika. Many are being purged. Many are being cleansed. Many are being healed.
Broken hearts Rakat Zika are being healed Makazika. They're being bound up. In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth, we thank you and.
[00:19:56] Speaker A: We honor you in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Oh, hallelujah.
If you've just joined us tonight, a warm welcome to you. This is teach us how to pray. And we're praying so specifically about our soul wellness. And we're going to start off tonight with the condition of our hearts. That is what we're praying about.
So our prayer point reads that we bring our heart before you, father. We expose it to you, we acknowledge the mess inside, and we ask you to purge our hearts and expose any wickedness in it. Some of these prayer points that I'm going to do, I'm going to talk you through some of the things that we are going to be doing, right? So this prayer point concerning the condition of our hearts, you know, the heart of man is a very, very interesting place, right? And in the place of. In the place of prayer, a lot of the times, if you don't have enough self awareness, if you, you know, perhaps don't know, you know what is happening, you don't understand the pains that you're experiencing, or you don't know if there is emotional pain, you don't know what caused it. You don't know when it started, et cetera, et cetera. You can actually inquire of the Lord and he can reveal these things to you. He can reveal the condition of your heart to you. But a lot of the times, people know the condition of their heart. They know. They say, father, I'm experiencing this emotion of jealousy towards a, b and c, or, this person has offended me. I.
You know that you have unforgiveness in your heart. Do you understand? And you know that in the place of prayer, you have to release, you know, that person. But some people don't know, you understand? They don't know when things have started for them. It could be such a long time ago, it could be something so insignificant, but it is in your heart. Let me prove that to you. This is Jeremiah 17, nine to ten. And it says, the heart is deceitful above all else and beyond cure. Who can understand it? I, the Lord, search the hearts and examine the mind. Oh, how powerful. How powerful. It says, the heart is deceitful. Another version says wicked.
[00:22:13] Speaker B: Okay, so.
[00:22:15] Speaker A: But this is the correct translation. The heart is deceitful. Okay, what does this mean to, you know. So it's not really wickedness necessarily, but it's more of deceit. Okay. This means that your heart can hide information from you. You know, sometimes it is something that the body does. You go through a traumatic experience. You go through a painful experience. It's as if your brain tries to protect you from that experience.
Do you understand? But at the end of the day, if it doesn't come out, if that pain is not exposed, not exposed to people, you know, you shouldn't go. It's not that you should go and tell people, but if it's not exposed to God, to the father, it cannot be healed. You know, there's some instances in my life I had done a spiritual ordered last year, and as I was in the place of prayer, the Holy Spirit revealed something to me that I was offended about. But I know that I was offended. I took an offense against something, and I didn't know it, you know, so you can just be going through life and things are happening, and your body just goes, just kind of protects you from a painful experience. But that thing was in my heart. Do you understand? So that's what it means, that the heart is deceitful above all things. Then I want to read to you psalm 139 23 to 24. It says, search me, o goddesse God, and know my heart. Try me and know my thoughts, and see if there be any wicked way in me and lead me in the way everlasting. See if there are any wicked ways in me. Now I want to just give you the translation for wicked ways.
That word wicked, specifically, when I looked up what that wicked word meant in Hebrew, what was the original word? And the word is? O tzeb.
[00:24:09] Speaker B: Right.
[00:24:10] Speaker A: O tzeb. What wickedness there means is pain or sorrow or even idolatry.
Pain, sorrow or even idolatry. So, you know, someone might say wickedness, it's hatred, you know, it's jealousy or. Yeah, those falls part of wickedness, but primarily to harbor pain, to harbor sorrow, keep it in you to be pained.
You understand? To God that is wickedness. So not letting go of a painful experience, not being healed of a painful experience, harboring to experience pain, it's, you know, it's not a problem. You know, God understands that it was a painful experience. The Holy Spirit understands, but to keep it. So now the psalmist says, see if there is any wicked. Search me, o God, know my heart, try me. Know my thoughts. See if there's any wicked way in me. Is there idolatry? That's what is considered wicked. Idolatry, pain, sorrow. Hallelujah. So tonight we're praying regarding the condition of our hearts. We bring in our hearts before the Lord. We're going to be open and honest with him tonight. We're just going to expose our hearts to the Lord and ask him to search your heart. Ask him to show you if there's any wicked way if you know what it is, bring it out. Talk to the father. Be honest with him. Tell him about your heart. Expose your heart to him and allow him to search that heart. To try that heart to purge, to cleanse that heart.

Zika. Zika. Or we acknowledge, O Lord, that we need your help, Rashadia, to get over some painful experiences in life. We need your help, o Kalisha. Rashad. We need your help to move on from things. We need your help to face some things. We need your help to accept some things.

[00:34:15] Speaker A: You know something that my husband mentioned to me the other day? He said, there are some things in life.
If the Lord does not help you, if God does not help you, if God does not heal you, the situation will never change.
Some people tonight, you need help to forgive. You need help to let go of some bitterness. You need help to be healed in your soul.
And it is the type of help, is the type of assistance that only the Lord Jesus Christ can give you. He's the only one. You understand? There are many principles that we've learned in the word. The casting out of devils, speaking in tongues, you know, prayers of the spirit. There are different principles. Giving tithing, giving seeds. But then there's some things that only the Lord himself can help you. And that's why it is so important when you come before God that you're not like a big christian, like, oh, you know, look at me. You know, I don't need anything tough. No, God is our father.
He's our father. And I said this last week. I prayed about it. Maybe some of you have never had an experience with the father. You've never had an experience with a good father. So you don't know what it is like to just run into the arms of your father and say, hey, I messed up.
Hey, this happened to me. It was a lot. It was tough, you know? And in the same way, he's a father, but he's also a best friend, you understand? And then also the Lord Jesus Christ.
All of this emotional distress that I'm talking about, he has already been through it. The Lord Jesus Christ was rejected. The Lord Jesus Christ was alone. He was isolated. He was betrayed. He was hurt. They spoke about him. They gossiped about him. They slandered him. They abandoned him.
You understand? So many he went through, you know, and I probably go through this in the rest of the month when we read some of the psalms and we read some of the books in the prophets just to see how they prophesied the pain, the emotional anguish that the Lord Jesus Christ has gone through. You know, in Hebrews, it says, for, we do not have a high priest that cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmity. Right? What does that mean? We do not have a God. We do not have a person that we've come to with our belief and our faith that cannot identify with us, cannot feel what we felt. The Lord Jesus Christ knows how you're feeling, so he's not the person to run from. He's the person to run to and expose. There's some things you can't expose, like to a family member, to a friend, even to a spouse. There's just some things that people have gone through that they've been through. They don't know who to turn to. It's only the father, and he is not intimidated by the mess. Okay, so I hope that you enjoyed that prayer point. We're just, you know, recognizing. And in that place of prayer, you can just tell the Lord, this is what's going on. Be honest. I'm disappointed.
I feel ABC. Help me. Help me. Help me to get over this. Help me to move on. I can't seem to let go. Help me. You are the helper.
Praise the Lord. Okay, so we're gonna move on to our next prayer point right now. Oh, hallelujah. So we prayed about the condition of our hearts right now. That's the awareness part and the cleansing part. Now we're dealing with healing our hearts. We ask the Holy Spirit to heal our hearts in accordance with his word. May the blood of Christ Jesus Christ purge us, cleanse us, and heal any brokenness and bind up wounds. Take this time to pronounce forgiveness upon others if you need to forgive somebody and also to forgive yourself. We are praying in accordance with psalm 147 three. It says, he heals the broken broken hearted, and he binds up their wounds. Jeremiah 3017. But I will restore you to health, and I will heal your wounds, declares the Lord. Psalm 30 418. [00:59:41] Speaker A: Our amazing prayer session for tonight. And you can let us know, you know, how was this prayer session for you tonight?
You know, is there something specific that, you know, you receive from the spirit? Is there a miracle that has taken place or has happened for you? We'd love to know, and we'd love to celebrate that with you. And I hope that, you know, you've taken some of these prayers down because you can always do them. You understand, sometimes when you're dealing with issues in the soul, you might do them a few times. And on the next session, I'm gonna go in, I'm gonna get into forgiveness, you know, and how to deal with negative emotions and feelings that persist even after, you know, you've released something from your soul. Praise the Lord. But before we go, I want to give anybody an opportunity who would love to become a child of God tonight. Praise God. All the privileges that we have in prayer obviously only work for us because we are children of God. We're born again.
Hallelujah. We are in his kingdom. We are his children, and therefore we are recognized as his sons. Praise God. So in order for you to be born again, you know, Romans ten nine says that we've got to, you know, confess with our mouth that Jesus Christ is Lord and believe in our hearts. Believe what? Believe the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. That the Lord Jesus Christ is not just a prophet, you know, he's not just a rabbi or a teacher, but the Lord Jesus. Jesus Christ is God.
Hallelujah. So, you know, God humbled himself and he became a man. He came to this earth and he was born of a virgin. He was born of the virgin Mary. And then he lived and he lived a very miraculous life. You know, he performed signs and wonders. He was loved to a dying world. And he died. He died for my sin? He died for, for your sin. He died for the sins of the whole world. The Lord Jesus Christ was what we call the propitiation for sin. That is the satisfying sacrifice for sin. He died. He died not only so that we can, you know, go to heaven one day, but so that we can be reconciled with God, so that we can be in right relationship with him, so that we can have fellowship with him. But not only that, so that we can have his life and nature. Praise God.
Remember that a God always gives birth to a God. A cat gives birth to a cat. A dog gives birth to a dog. God gives birth to gods.
You know, the Bible says, ye are of God, little children. And I have overcome them. Because greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world. Ye are of God. When you are born again, you are of goddess, you have God's DNA, you have his life, you have his nature. Right? And that happens when you receive him into your spirit, when you get born again. Through believing the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ with all of your heart, that these miracles took place, that the Lord Jesus Christ was raised to life from the dead, and that he is who he said he was. You believe that and you make the confession. And then through your words, you are now allowed to be in this great kingdom. And a miracle will take place in your spirit, where your human spirit gets replaced with the supernatural spirit, this life and nature of God. So if you want that to happen, you want to become a child of God. I'm going to pray this prayer with you. Believe this with your heart and say it with your mouth. Say, dear Father, I come to you in the name of Jesus Jesus Christ.
Your word says, whosoever calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
I ask Jesus to come into my heart and to be the Lord of my life.
From today, I am born again because I believe Jesus Jesus Christ died for my sin and he was raised to life by the father.
I now receive eternal life into my spirit, into my soul, and into my body.
I am a child of God now.
I have eternal life now. I am a new creation now. Thank you, you, Jesus.
I also receive the gift of the Holy Spirit, the comforter, to live on the inside of me. Holy Spirit, I ask for your abilities, the ability to speak with new tongues. Oh, hallelujah. So now you've received the ability to speak with new tongues. So I'm going to speak in tongues with you.

Those tongues, as little as they are, as small as they sound, pray in other. As often as you have time. Praise God. Because when you pray in other tongues, the Bible says you are not speaking to a man, but you are speaking to God. You are also instructing angels. This is the beautiful life and the gift that you've received when you've come into this life in Christ. Praise the Lord.
